Your can spend many hour prowling the streets of San Vanelona a vitual skateboarder’s paradise!

This game has by far the most realistic graphics and trick controls of any skateboarding game ever!

The trick stick system for tricks is very fluid and easy to get used to.

I spent very little time free skating though. I was so addicted to the story mode I probably beat it at least eight times.

The story mode begins as your character is being filmed at a school doing tricks. When you hit the final stairway at the end of the session and you fly into the street and get blasted by a bus! After that the intro movie starts. It’s a very good intro movie starring Danny Way as the EMT and Jason Dill and Paul Rodriguez driving the ambulance. I don’t want to ruin it for you, But’s it’s really cool.

You wake up groggy and you are given a palm pilot - type thing. Anyways you put your info detailing what kind of style skater you are.

Goofy or Regular. I always pick regular. That means you do not have to do tricks backwards! Then you get to pick if you are a Aggressive or Loose skater. I really do not think it matters which one you pick though. Then you get to pick what kind of gesture’s you use. Cool,Rock,Metal or Punk.

Punk is the neatest I think. You just press up or down or sideways on D-Pad for emotional output.

The there is a surgical film starring goofy skating veteran Mark Gonzalez as your doctor!

After that there is a small movie showing you all the spots in San Vanelona to skate and showing how to use the subway.

Next, It’s time to recover from your major surgery and start skating again. You start the demo part of the game at the Skate Park showing you how to use the trick stick and other tricks. Next you get to play S.K.A.T.E. against local skate park rat Shinjo. After you beat his butt you can go learn from the pro’s. Jason Dill teaches you Manuals and Paul Rodriguez teaches you Nollies.

Next you follow Shinjo to the School to learn about Photo’s and Filming. These are the main way for you to get “Coverage” that is so often talked about as the most important part of the game. After that Shinjo notifies you that there is a Competition at the Skate Park.

But first, two Pro’s want to teach you things at the School. Chris Haslam want to show you about flipping in and out of grinds and Mike Carroll wants to teach about scoring a line of tricks with no breaks in between. When you finish a pro’s tutorial you can use them in free skate mode.

After the Pro’s head back to the Skate Park for your first Skate Competition.

After you win the competition you get to take the Danny Way tutorial. He shows you how to pump to get more air in a half pipe.

Then it’s off to Reg’s. Reg’s is a skate shop and is a place you can buy clothing and skate gear. It is also the headquarters for,

Skate Boarding Magazine. Once you go there you are given a free Reg’s shirt if you want it and are told that there’s are competition.

When you win the competition. You are picked by Reg’s to skate for them and have to do a video. After that you are able to do films, photo shoots and competitions. Then you get a phone call from Mike. He is taking photo’s at a location and want’s you to meet up.

Not to confuse you Seb who you get messages from shoot’s photos for Skateboarding Magazine. Mike who you meet up with shoots photos for Thrasher Magazine. After the photo with Mike you meet him and he introduces you to skate board racing maniac Freeway.

You have to follow Freeway to Slappy’s Skate Shop. Slappy’s is also Thrasher magazine headquarters. Again, you can buy clothing and gear at Slappy’s. When they become your sponsor you can do Death Races, Photo Shoots and Filming for them too.

After a little while you are given a chance to pick a board sponsor. This is one of my favorite parts of the game. You go to different locations meet with every company skater and do what they ask of you. They ask you if you want them to sponsor you. I recommend that you do all 10 pro’s challenges first before you pick! You only get to make this decision once so don’t regret it! After you are done with the pro challenges go to the nearest skate shop and pick your board sponsor. As the Story mode progresses by you doing Filming,Photo’s,Competitions, and yes Death Races for Thrasher mag. You also get to pick Shoe,Trucks and Wheel sponsors for extra cash added on to you money for every mission you complete. The Board sponsor is the only sponsor who calls you in the game. That’s why I beat the game so many times, I wanted to find out what every board sponsor had to say! This game is a fun game and once you get the feel for it controls. Let the fun begin!

After you beat the X Games and Danny Way’s mega park you can skate them all you want! Mega Ramps are the Best!

Oh, I forgot find all the hidden spots so you can go to your map and move faster through the game! If you feel like you have hit a wall with the game try to go to the big hill in the area where you meet Dennis Busenitz turn around and grind the median! It’s the best area for those hard films you need to complete to move on. I have did the photo where you manual the two boxes at the Plan B warehouse and it’s not that important to do to move on!!!
